Chimur (October 19)- Chimur election administration is ready for assembly elections in Chimur constituency. The entire election administration is ready in 74-Chimur constituency for the assembly general election-2024 to be held on November 20 (Wednesday). Chimur Assembly Constituency has a total of 279907 voters in which 140787 male voters, 139120 female voters, 7047 youth voters, 1285 PWD voters, 1891 senior citizen voters (85+) and these voters will exercise their right to vote at 314 polling stations. He was speaking at a press conference held at the Sub-Divisional Office in connection with the Maharashtra Assembly General Election – 2024. Tehsildar Sridhar Rajmane, Naib Tehsildar Nikure were present on this occasion.

Special polling stations are being established as per the instructions of the Election Commission and they include 1 youth polling booth, 1 all women booth and 1 disabled polling booth. A control room has been set up in the office of Election Returning Officer Chimur Assembly Constituency. The said control room will be 24 by 7. Also through Cvigil App facility has been made available to citizens for complaints. From the point of view of increasing the voting percentage by voting as many voters as possible, various activities have been implemented under voter awareness to increase the voting of young voters, women voters. Also, necessary facilities are being provided for the voters at the polling station and a health team and voter support room will be established at each polling station. Wheelchairs and volunteers will be appointed to assist disabled and elderly voters to go to polling booths. Ghadge said that the facility of home voting will be made available to elderly voters (85+) and disabled voters to make it easier for them to exercise their right to vote.
A candidate is required to maintain a maximum expenditure limit of Rs 40 lakh during the election period. It is mandatory to give daily account of expenses incurred during the election period and it is mandatory to submit the complete account of expenses along with an affidavit within 30 days from the declaration of results.
For the Vidhan Sabha General Election, it is mandatory for the interested candidate to complete the Nomination Letter (Form B) along with the Affidavit (Form 26). A candidate can submit maximum four nomination papers. It is mandatory to deposit Rs 10 thousand in cash along with the nomination paper for general candidates and Rs 5 thousand in cash for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes category candidates.
Electoral decision officer 74-Chimur Vidhan Sabha Constituency and Sub Divisional Officer Kishore Ghadge appealed to the voters to participate spontaneously to exercise their right to vote and perform their national duty by participating in this festival of Lokshahi like marriage ceremony and other festivals.
