State-Level Student Seminar Competition Successfully Organized at Gramgeeta Mahavidyalaya, Chimur

Chimur, – A State-Level Student Seminar Competition in Chemistry was successfully organized at Gramgeeta Mahavidyalaya, Chimur. The competition was jointly conducted by the Department of Chemistry, Gramgeeta Mahavidyalaya, and the National Academy of Science India (NASI), Nagpur Chapter. The primary aim of this competition was to encourage students to enhance their understanding of chemistry, stay updated with modern scientific advancements, and develop their academic presentation skills.
The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. N. S. Gajbhiye, Chairman of NASI, Nagpur Chapter. The event was presided over by Principal Dr. Sunanda S. Aswale, while Dr. Arun Amale and convernor Dr. Humeswar Anande, was also present. The Chief Guest, Prof. Suresh Umare, Advisor of NASI, Nagpur Chapter, and Professor in the Department of Chemistry, VNIT, Nagpur, delivered a special lecture on Polymers, their Design and structure property relationship.
This seminar competition was open to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students of the science stream. The participants presented topics related to various branches of chemistry, including Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Electrochemistry, and Green Chemistry. Each student was allotted seven minutes for their presentation, followed by a three-minute question-and-answer session. The students used PowerPoint presentations to effectively present their topics.
The event was conducted in two separate groups: UG and PG categories. The evaluation panel comprised Dr. K. R. Lanjewar Mohsinbhai Zaweri Mahavidyalaya, Desaiganj, Prof. S. M. Sontakke, Mahatma Gandhi Arts and Science College, Armori, Mr. Rahul Thengane Lokmanya Tilak Mahavidyalaya, Wani, and Dr. Ashish Wakulkar Anand Niketan College, Warora. The judges provided valuable insights to the participants on effective seminar preparation, time management, and essential presentation skills. More than 50 students from various colleges across the state participated in this competition.
In the UG category, Himanshu Kortrange secured the first position, followed by Maithili Pund in second place and Mansi Vitonde in third place. In the PG category, Jyoti Thavri emerged as the winner, with Abhilasha Kulsange securing second place and Anjali Bawankar in third place. The winners were felicitated with mementos, certificates, and cash prizes.
The successful organization of this state-level student seminar competition was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the teaching and non-teaching staff of Gramgeeta Mahavidyalaya, Chimur.
