Chandrapur :The 15-day special bamboo training camp organized at Chorgaon under the ‘CAMPA 2025-26’ campaign under the Bamboo Research and Training Center Chichpalli concluded with enthusiasm. Through this initiative, an attempt was made to empower women in rural areas economically by providing them with modern training in bamboo art.
In a class based on the concept of ‘Training Cum Production’ organized for women in Chorgaon, women were given scientific training to make attractive prasad boxes and artistic bamboo jewellery from bamboo. They were guided on how to produce items that are in demand in the market using locally available bamboo.
The concluding ceremony was graced by the chief guest, Forest Range Officer Smt. Velme, as well as Forest Range Officer Akash Mallelwar , Sarpanch of Chorgaon Trinali Dhandare , Forester Sachin Tekam , Training Center Supervisor Yogita Satravane, along with a large number of forest department employees and trainees.
While guiding, Akash Mallelwar said , “ Bamboo is not just a natural resource but can be a powerful engine for the rural economy. Women should use this art to start their own small industries , so that they will get permanent employment opportunities. ” At this time, Velme Madam said , “ The bamboo required for production will be provided to the women through the department. Also , transportation facilities will be provided for the women who want to come to Chichpalli for further advanced training . ”
At the end of the program, an attractive exhibition of bamboo products made by the trainee women was organized. This initiative has increased the confidence of the women of Chorgaon area and bamboo handicrafts will get a new boost. The entire planning of this training was done by supervisor Yogita Satravane. Sunita Mokashe as assistant and trainers ‘Bamboo Sakhi’ Swati Roshan Jumde and Mansi Bhadke made valuable काँट्रीब्युशन्स.
